Response: 1) So far, do you think what John Griffin did was significant and why or why not? 2) Griffin talks about the cliche or idea that the lighter the skin of a Negro, the more trustworthy he is and is surprised that both educated people and Negros use and seem to believe this. What is your impression of this idea and why? 3) One of Griffin's challenges he writes about is "getting into the Negro world" and that it is complicated. Why do you think that is and what other challenges do you think he'll have?
